Maximum Sentence for Anderson man charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor

An Anderson man, who was scheduled for trial in December, pled guilty last week and received a 20-year maximum sentence announced Tenth Circuit Solicitor Micah E Black.

Antonio Sibley (26) pled guilty on October 30th, 2026, to Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Second Degree in Anderson County. Judge R. Lawton McIntosh sentenced Sibley to twenty (20) years in prison. This charge is considered both “violent” and “most serious” and Sibley must register as a sex offender upon his release. This crime is also considered a “no parole” offense, meaning the Sibley must serve 85% of his sentence before he is released.

Evidence presented at the plea hearing indicated that in February of 2024, the minor child victim reported to her mother and her grandmother that during the evening before her mother arrived home from work, that the mother’s live-in boyfriend, Antonio Sibley, sexually abused the child by penetrating her with his fingers and penis. Upon learning of this incident, the victim’s mother took her minor child to AnMed in Anderson, where a nurse administered a sexual assault kit to the victim. Swabs from the sexual assault kit were later processed by forensic scientists at the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). Evidence showed that the swabs taken from the victim did yield the presence of the defendants DNA, thereby corroborating the victim’s story that she told her mother and to law enforcement during the investigation.

Solicitor Micah Black Prosecuted the case for the State. 10th Circuit Investigator Frank Wooten, Victim Advocate Stephanie Joseph, and Donna Baxter also assisted in the preparation of this case. Attorney Fred Woods represented the defendant.

“Antonio Sibley will spend the next 20 years in prison for the atrocious crimes he committed against this minor child,” stated Solicitor Black. “There is not a prison sentence long enough to undo the damage he has done to this child, but my office is committed to continue aggressively prosecuting those individuals that harm our children.”
