Anderson Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Two Armed Robberies and Firearm Offense

Rickey Lee Hall, Jr., of Anderson, pled guilty this week to two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, announced Solicitor Micah E. Black. The Honorable R. Lawton McIntosh then sentenced Hall to twenty years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.  Hall will not be eligible for parole on this violent offense.  Additionally, the two Armed Robbery convictions count as two strikes under South Carolina’s “three strikes and you’re out” law.

The convictions stem from a series of crimes committed in Anderson County during September 2025. On September 26, 2025, Hall entered the Marathon gas station located on Highway 187, armed with a firearm and wearing a mask covering his face. Hall pointed the firearm at the store clerk and demanded money, fleeing the scene with approximately $350 in cash.

Just days later, during the early morning hours of September 30, 2025, Hall pointed and presented a firearm at an individual after a prior argument between the two men at a convenience store earlier that night.

Later that same evening, Hall committed a second armed robbery at the Stop-A-Minit convenience store on Pearman Dairy Road. Armed once more with a handgun, Hall entered the store, demanded money from the clerk, and made off with approximately $400 before fleeing. Law enforcement officers quickly identified Hall’s vehicle, located him shortly after the robbery, and apprehended him following a brief foot pursuit.

Once in custody, Hall confessed to committing both robberies and the firearm offense after being confronted with surveillance footage and other evidence linking him to the crimes.

Assistant Solicitor Derek Polsinello prosecuted the case on behalf of the State. Hall was represented by Richard Warder of the Greenville County Bar.  Solicitor Black praised the work of Detective Patrick Wagner and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office for their efforts in bringing the case to a successful conclusion.

“Over the course of just a few days, Rickey Hall terrorized innocent members of our community by repeatedly using a firearm to threaten and intimidate others for his own gain,” Black stated. “Because of the coordinated efforts of law enforcement and the swift work of investigators, Hall was identified, apprehended, and held accountable for his actions. Today’s sentence ensures that he will spend the next two decades in prison and sends a clear message that violent offenders who prey upon hardworking citizens will face serious consequences in Anderson County.”
